Biography
Mushtaq Noor opened his eye in a small agriculturist family of a far-flung village of Pakistan. He was only two and a half when his father died of an accident. However, under very crucial circumstances, he strived and succeeded in achieving his B.Sc. Engineering degree with Distinctions.
For a few years he joined a Public organization but soon he preferred setting up his own business leaving that service. He was very successful in his business related endeavors and very soon he achieved high positions in his circles. Unfortunately, at this stage, an old trusted friend joined his business but cheated him betraying his blind faith in him rendering him penniless, homeless.
He was constrained, even, to leave his country but failing meeting his maintenance needs, there too, he had to undergo manifold tortures and pressures. Putting the accidents and incidents aside, killing of time sitting idle, away from and unaware of the fate of his kith and kin, was an additional devastating agony.
He can't forget the day of 13th September 1997, when starving for over three days, dejected a lot, when for a while, he went drowsy, someone asked him, "Why not start poetry and painting (what he never did or thought in life) to kill time?"
In abeyance only, of the said orders, he started extensive study of the famous especially the philosophy of "Khudi" (highborn creation of man) by the great thinker Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), Poet of the East. Strangely enough, his drowsing led him to many forms of matter undergoing alchemy through life, as the soul does, which could be utilized as allegoristic instances to place such occurrences on canvas. More and more involved, he remained evolving and drawing sketches against the ideas so captured. He had never attended any art school nor painted but his innate power, to conceive and express through brush, surprisingly developed, at this stage.
The sketches drawn, as such, were with him but were of no use unless transferred to canvas. He tried his best to arrange some funds for painting materials but failed. At last, during Feb. 2002 a friend from America arranged him a small sum to try his luck. In April, 2002 he started painting his accruals, hence this art. All his artwork, (presented at website: http://www.ravingsart.com) as mentioned earlier, is based on revelations blessed on to him resulting from dive in philosophy of Iqbal, spread over three to four years. During this time he also wrote three books in Urdu poetry.
In his own words, "All praise and graciousness is to God Almighty who sends each soul labeling a unique level of intellect, blessing it certain attributes and virtues, to perform it's (assigned) part through it's appearance (life) in this world. God unveils these attributes at a stage He deems fit, purely as a pre-set program, that only He Himself knows! I am of the firm belief that there is no wonder, skill or role, what so ever, at his hands to be praised".
