Né à Genève (Suisse) 1926. Réside en Israel depuis 1948. Pendant 28 ans, photographe à La Faculté d’Architecture, Technion – Haifa.
Ben-Arieh réalise ses images par le moyen du photomontage. Ses photo-graphies sont composées de plusieurs négatifs, qui ont été pris à différents endroits et différentes périodes, et montés à l’epreuve finale au labo.
Dans les images de l’artiste apparaissent fréquemment des motifs de nus alliés à des décors imaginaires. Le résultat est la création d’une realité différente émergeant de l’inconscient et prenant racine dans un monde mythique d’archétypes.
Par ailleurs, dans ses portraits, ainsi que dans le nu, l’artiste tend a exprimer la personalité de ses modèles, ainsi que sa propre sensibilité.
La Bibliotheque Nationale à Paris a acquis 12 photographies de l’artiste.

THE ARTIST’S BIOGRAPHY
Born in Geneva, Switzerland, 1926 - in Israel since 1948
Photographer for 28 years at the Faculty of Architecture, Technion, Haifa.
Ben-Arieh works mainly with the method of photomontage. His photographs are composed of a number of negatives, which were taken at various locations and times, and were assembled by him into final prints in the darkroom.
In the artist's pictures there frequently appear female nude motives, which seem to connect themselves with imaginary scenery. The result is the creation of a differently reality which emerges from the unconscious and is related with the world of myths and archetypes.
On the other hand, in his portrait pictures, as well as in the nude, the artist aims to express the personality of the models, as well as his own inner truth.
Ben-Arieh took part in international exhibitions:
London, Southampton, Lincoln, Edinburgh, Moers, Jicin, Istanbul, Nicosia. Paris, Zurich, Frankfurt, Hamburg…
In addition Ben-Arieh participated in five international photographic meetings in Arles (France).
